The Great Eastern Hotel is seeking a qualified Full Time Chef to join our kitchen team in Littlehampton, SA.
The successful candidate will be responsible for menu planning in consultation with management, preparing and cooking menu items, supervising kitchen operations during service, and ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and food safety standards are maintained.

• Estimating food and labour costs and assisting with cost control
• Preparing and cooking menu items to a high and consistent standard
• Monitoring food preparation and ensuring quality, portion control and presentation
• Supervising and coordinating kitchen staff during service
• Demonstrating cooking techniques and guiding junior team members
• Managing stock levels, ordering supplies and reducing wastage
• Ensuring full compliance with food safety and workplace health standards
The role operates across lunch and dinner service, including weekends and evenings. The kitchen is fast paced and service driven, so strong organisational skills and leadership capability are essential.
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year relevant and demonstrated experience as a Chef
• Proven ability to supervise kitchen staff during service
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and compliance requirements
• Experience in a commercial hotel or high volume kitchen environment
