Task & responsibilities

• Planning menus in consultation with management
• Estimating food and labour costs and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with Managers and kitchen staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a high standard
• Enforcing hygiene and food safety regulations
• Training and supervising kitchen staff where required
• Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements

Qualification & experience

• Minimum 1 year relevant experience as a Chef
• Relevant trade qualification (Cert III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred)
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
