Full Time Cook

Burrito Bar Tuggeranong is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Cook to take a leadership role in our fast-paced kitchen. This is a permanent full-time position offering stability, autonomy and the opportunity to drive standards within a growing hospitality business.

We are looking for someone who brings strong operational experience, understands compliance requirements, and can confidently lead a small team while maintaining high food quality and consistency.

Task & responsibilities

• Oversee daily food preparation and service
• Maintain high presentation and portion control standards
• Monitor and record food temperatures and ensure safe food handling practices
• Manage ordering, supplier communication and stock control
• Minimise wastage and manage cost of goods
• Supervise, train and direct junior kitchen staff
• Assist with kitchen rostering and workflow planning
• Ensure compliance with Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) requirements
• Maintain a clean, organised and audit-ready kitchen at all times

Qualification & experience

• Certificate ||| or |V in Commercial Cookery or equivalent industry experience
• Basic First Aid certificate
• Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of food safety legislation
• Confident in managing prep and service in a high-volume environment
• Leadership capability with clear communication skills
• Organised, proactive and solutions-focused
• Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings and weekends
