Red Cow Hotel, a well-established and high-volume pub and bistro venue located in Penrith, NSW, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our professional kitchen team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Chef with strong operational and leadership skills to contribute to a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Task & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and developing menus in consultation with management
  • Estimating food and labour costs and assisting in kitchen budget control
  • Ordering food supplies and liaising with suppliers to ensure quality and cost efficiency
  • Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Supervising and coordinating kitchen staff during service
  • Monitoring food quality at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Managing stock control, portion control and minimising wastage
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, HACCP, and WHS regulations
  • Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment

Qualification & experience

Skills & Requirements:

  • A relevant Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery, or equivalent industry experience
  • More than 1 year of relevant full-time experience as a Chef
  • Experience working in a high-volume pub or restaurant environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, cost control and kitchen operations
  • Proven ability to supervise and coordinate kitchen staff
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
