About the Role

Cleveland Estate is seeking an experienced and reliable Chef de Partie to join its kitchen team. The role involves managing a designated kitchen section and supporting the delivery of high-quality food across the restaurant, cellar door, and event operations, including weddings and functions. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical cooking skills, the ability to supervise junior staff, and a commitment to maintaining consistent food quality and kitchen standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present dishes within a designated kitchen section in accordance with established menus and service standards.

Complete mise en place efficiently to support smooth daily service and event operations.

Assist senior chefs with menu preparation and food production as required.

Monitor food quality throughout preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and adherence to venue standards.

Supervise and guide commis chefs and kitchen hands within the assigned section to support efficient workflow during service.

Assist with stock rotation and food ordering within the section and minimise food waste.

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards at all times.

Support the training of junior kitchen staff by demonstrating correct cooking techniques and preparation procedures.

Maintain cleanliness of the work section and assist with the proper use and care of kitchen equipment.

Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team during peak service periods and events.

Skills Required

A minimum Diploma in a related field or an equivalent qualification

At least 12 months experience working as a Chef 

Strong food preparation and cooking skills

Ability to manage a designated kitchen section independently

Effective communication and supervision skills

Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards

Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation under pressure

Strong organisational and time-management skills

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-based environment
