Location: 15/36 Stephen Road, Dandenong South VIC 3175

Position: Full-Time Chef

Salary: $80000 per annum plus superannuation

Working Hours: Full-time position, 38 hours per week.

Pendu Dhaba Curry and Cafe is a well-established Indian restaurant located in Dandenong South, Victoria. We are known for serving authentic Indian cuisine and delivering high-quality food and service to our customers. Due to business growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team.

This role is suitable for a skilled professional who is passionate about cooking and capable of maintaining high standards of food preparation and kitchen operations in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

   •    Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and established recipes.

   •    Ensuring that all meals are prepared and presented to a high standard of quality and consistency.

   •    Planning menus and contributing ideas for new dishes to enhance the restaurant’s offerings.

   •    Monitoring the quality of ingredients and ensuring that only fresh and suitable products are used in food preparation.

   •    Estimating food requirements and assisting with ordering and stock control of kitchen supplies.

   •    Supervising kitchen operations during service periods to ensure meals are prepared efficiently and delivered on time.

   •    Maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with health regulations.

   •    Ensuring kitchen equipment and work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe.

   •    Monitoring portion control and minimising food wastage where possible.

   •    Assisting in the training and supervision of kitchen staff when required.

Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

   •    Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.

   •    At least two years of relevant experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.

   •    Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.

   •    Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

   •    Good organisational and time management skills.

   •    A strong commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.

   •    Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
