Task & responsibilities

• Assist in running the day-to-day kitchen duties 
• Prepare, season, and cook different foods as per the menu and customer orders.
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc).
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene.
• Communicate orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.
• Receiving, storing, stock segregation, and keep records of foodstuffs used.
• Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently.
• Use methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing cooked food with utensil.
• Portion, arrange and garnish food, and place in different platters.
• Supervise and manage junior cooks and kitchen staff.

Qualification & experience

• The right to work in Australia 
• Certificate III in commercial cookery in relevant field or have extensive work experience as a cook focused in Indian culinary/cuisine 
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience
• Have the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• A passion for excellent quality food, produce and service
• Be reliable, punctual, and hard workings
• Have strong communication skills
• Be able to maintain kitchen procedures and WHS standards
