Task & responsibilities

• Menu planning and costing of menus
• Monitor and ensure the high quality of Food throughout preparation and presentation 
• Prepare and cook meals safely and in a clean environment 
• Full stock control and accountability for stock-takes, ordering and stock rotation
• Take charge of menu changes and specials, using your creativity to produce exciting plates
• Minimise wastage and ensure cost control for maximum business profitability
• Work closely with restaurant manager and front of house team
• Maintain clean and proper use of kitchen equipment and advice on repairs or improvements needed for greater efficiency
• Supervise and train kitchen staffs on proper cooking techniques
• Monitoring food handling, preparation, and presentation of dishes
• Ensure compliance with food and hygiene and implement safe work practices
• Handle complaints according to guidelines and in a way that leaves customers satisfied and impressed

Qualification & experience

• Excellent English skills
• The right to work in Australia 
• Certificate IV in commercial cookery or relevant trade qualifications 
• Minimum of one year of work experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management skills
• Leadership abilities and experience
• Commitment to hygiene, food safety and work health & safety
• Experience running a busy and multi-functional kitchen
