Key responsibilities for Cook positions:

  • Preparing and Cooking Food:
    • Cooking a variety of dishes using grills, ovens, fryers, and stoves.
    • Following recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency.
  • Food Preparation:
    • Preparing ingredients such as chopping, marinating, and seasoning before service.
  • Maintaining Food Safety and Hygiene Standards:
    • Adhering to food safety regulations (HACCP) and workplace health & safety standards.
    • Ensuring all ingredients are stored correctly to prevent contamination.
  • Operating Kitchen Equipment:
    • Using professional kitchen tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
    • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen tools and workstations.
  • Supervising and Training Kitchen Assistants:
    • Guiding junior cooks or kitchen hands in food preparation and safety.
    • Ensuring a smooth kitchen workflow during busy service times.
  • Stock Management & Ordering Supplies:
    • Monitoring ingredient levels and ordering stock as needed.
    • Ensuring minimal food wastage and efficient inventory use.
  • Maintaining Kitchen Cleanliness & Organization:
    • Following sanitation protocols and ensuring a clean kitchen environment.
    • Disposing of waste correctly and adhering to environmental regulations.
