Cafe or Restaurant Manager

The Restaurant coffee shop Manager is responsible for the overall management, day-to-day operations, and profitability of Katherine Motel Coffee Shop / Restaurant Bar 100% independently. This includes overseeing accommodation services, the onsite Coffee Shop, Bar, Restaurant, Events/Conference facilities, guest amenities, and staff. The Manager will ensure a high standard of guest experience, compliance with applicable regulations, efficient management of staff and resources, and development of business opportunities.

Task & responsibilities

• An all-rounder who can manage admin and operations 100% independently
• Oversee daily operations of the café and restaurant, ensuring efficient service and smooth workflow.
• Manage and train a team of front-of-house and kitchen staff to deliver excellent customer service and food quality.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels, place orders, and manage supplier relationships.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, increase sales, and optimize operations.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in the development of menus, promotional activities, and seasonal offerings.
• Manage staff scheduling, payroll, and overall performance to ensure a productive and positive work environment.
• Work with the leadership team to track financial performance, manage budgets, and optimize profitability.
• POS operation.
• Stock taking and inventory management.

Qualification & experience

• Proven experience as a Cafe/Restaurant Manager or in a similar management position (3+ years).
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for motivating and mentoring staff.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• In-depth knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management and supplier relations.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost control, and sales forecasting.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the food industry.
• A positive attitude and ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for both staff and guests.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
